Abstract:
Farmer Mac offers two programs in its secondary market for agricultural loans. Although these programs have been running for some time, a survey of New Mexican financial institutions indicates that these lenders do not use these programs, and many do not know much about them. However, the lenders use other secondary markets, such as the New Mexico State Investment Council, and frequently use the loan guarantee programs of the Small Business Administration and the Farmers Home Administration.
