Abstract:
The financing needs and uses of funds by agribusiness firms are different today than in the past and require new lending policies and procedures. Changes in the size, structure, organization, and ways of doing business for many agribusiness firms will challenge the traditional methods used to finance this sector. The characteristics of the new agribusiness industry and the challenges faced by the lenders that serve it are identified.
