Abstract:
Throughout late summer of 1999, the American Bankers Association conducted its annual Farm Credit Situation Survey to assess agricultural banks' lending practices and the availability of credit to the farm economy. The latest survey collected data for the 12-month period ended June 30, a period that witnessed continued financial stress in the farm community as a result of depressed commodity prices.
