Chairman leach blasts national chartering proposal

Abstract: In a strongly worded, 3-page letter on June 23, 2000, to Farm Credit Administration Chairman Michael Reyna, House Banking Committee Chairman Jim Leach blasted the national Chartering plan for FCS direct lending associations that the FCA first proposed in March 2000. National Chartering is supposed to take effect January 1, 2001.
