Abstract:
The highlights of the 106th Congress includes: 1. crop insurance reform, 2. reauthorization and reform of the Commodity Exchange Act, 3. level funding of USDA loan guarantees, and 4. significant infusions of supplemental financial assistance. The Agricultural Risk Protection Act of 2000 was signed into law on June 20, 2000. The Federal Agriculture Improvement and Reform Act of 1996 will dominate the discussion in both the House and Senate Agriculture Committees in the 107th Congress.
