Symposium--CONTEMPORARY AGRICULTURAL ECONOMICS IN AUSTRALIA

Donald Birtall Williams

Australian Journal of Agricultural Economics, 1957, vol. 01, issue 01, 10

Abstract: This review of the present state of agricultural economics concentrates on some aspects which appear to be of particular importance or interest. In no sense is it an attempt to discuss the whole field of agricultural economics, nor to review the scope of work in the Bureau of Agricultural Economics. I have concentrated on aspects which seem to me to have given agricultural economics in Australia a separate identity within the broader fields covered by general economics. In the final section of this paper, rather than on the selected aspects discussed in more detail in the main part of it, the scope of agricultural economics, as I see it, is set out.
