Abstract: Keeping in view the importance of finance in farming a study was conducted in Varanasi district of eastern U.P. One hundred twenty sample farmers including 60 borrowers and 60 non borrowers were surveyed and data were analyzed. The result shows that marginal farms were well managed as compared to small sample farms. And borrower farmers certainly did more profitable paddy cultivation than the non-borrower sample farms. Thus it is suggested that financial support to the farmers always be continued.
