Level of Satisfaction of Migrant Workers in the Informal Sector with Public Space in Hanoi

Abstract: The paper utilized quantitative data collected by survey questionnaires conducted with migrant workers in the informal sector to examine their level of satisfaction with public space in Hanoi. Their two fundamental characteristics, namely type of occupation and that of migration, were analyzed in order to explore whether there existed a link with their level of satisfaction with public space. Overall, the survey sample was relatively satisfied with most types of public space in Hanoi. However, a fairly high proportion of the migrant workers expressed their dissatisfaction with sports playgrounds (either free or charged). The findings also revealed no relationship between type of migration or occupation and the sample’s level of satisfaction with public space.
