Abstract:
A tube-well irrigation based agricultural development project was launched in Tangail district with GTZ funding in 1985. In order to monitir progress and impact, a rapid appraisal was conducted in 12 selected villages in the district to provide a baseline scenario. The villages represented different demographic, economic, ecological, agricultural, farming systems conditions. The summary of the findings on factors that influenced farm production and income is presented in this paper.
