PERFORMANCE OF A RURAL POULTRY DEVELOPMENT PROJECT IN MYMENSINGH

Abstract: The field performance of a rural poultry development project in Mymensingh has been examined through analysis of survey data collected from 124 poultry keepers. There has been marked improvement iin both meat and egg production in the selected areas covered by the project. Such results have been obtained by crossing local hens with exotic cocks and reducing mortality by ensuring proper veterinary services. Some lapses in the functioning of the project in terms of feeding, and vaccination were recorded and remedial measures suggested.
