Abstract: An experiment was performed at the Juana Diaz Agricultural Experiment Substation in a San Anton Soil (Cumulic Haplustolls). The objective of the study project was to evaluate the effect of inorganic nitrogen and chicken manure applications in the yield components of papaya (Carica papaya L.). Growth data from the papaya plants was collected at'3, 6 and 12 months after planting. The parameters evaluated were: stem diameter, height, number of leaves/plant, and the reproductive column of the papaya plants. Data was taken on number of fruits and yield. A significant effect was observed, as for the nitrogen treatments for number of fruits and yield. Manure applications significantly increased vigour and plant growth.
