CHOIX ET PROPAGATION DE NOUVELLES VARIETES DE CANNE A SUCRE EN GUADELOUPE

Abstract: Au cours du cycle de 10 années d'expérimentations variétales poursuivies sur de nombreux champs d'essais et des séries d'une canne plantée et 4 rejets successifs, le Centre Technique Interprofessionnel de la Canne et du Sucre a étudié les performances de nombreux clones de canne à sucre introduits depuis des stations d'hybridation de Barbade, Guadeloupe (I RAT), Réunion et République Indienne. Par comparaison des clones anciens des années 50 cultivés traditionnellement en grandes surfaces dans l'Ile, les augmentations de productivité atteignent en tonnes de sucre/hectare/an 20 % en zones moins humides et 24 % en zones humides pour deux variétés de milieu et fin de récolte : B.80 08 et R.570. Barbade B.69 566 peut être utilisée très avantageusement en canne précoce de début de récolte en raison de sa forte richesse saccharine. Le C.T.I.C.S. s'emploie à propager ces trois variétés en utilisant des vitroplants en première génération des pépinières pour garantir un bon état phytosanitaire des boutures. ----- Over the last ten years of varietal experimentation and of new plus four ratoons cultivations gave the Interprofessional Center for sugarcane (CT1CS) the opportunity of studying the performances of many clones introduced from breeding stations of Barbados, Guadeloupe (IRAT), Réunion and India. Regarding clones of the fifties as control in traditional cultivation at large scale over the island, two varities (B. 8008 medium, R.570 late cycle) increased productivity to 24 % more in the humide zone and 20 % in the less humid zone. Barbados B. 69566 can be used very profitably as an early cane et the begining of the harvest, owing to its high sugar content. The CTICS in involved is the propagation of these three varieties through first generation nuseries with in vitro plantlets in order to warrant the good phytosanitary condition of the cuttings.
