----- Annual fertilizing of 10 t.ha-1 dry matter (d.m.) of activated sewage sludge from Jarry's station (Guadeloupe F.W.I.) induced dry matters productions of maize Eto Amarillo (grains and straws) upper the control with mineral fertilizers. There was no modification of the chemical status of the soil. Biennial fertilizing of 100 t.ha-1 d.m. gave significant increasing of grains dry matter production (55 - 65 qx.ha-1) compared with the control (40 qx.ha-1). N, C and Ρ content of the soil with 100 t.ha-1 activated sludge increased significantly ; C.E.C. level increased from 16 mèq (control) to 24 mèq/100 g dry soil (100 t.ha sewage sludge d.m.).
