La politique agricole chinoise: changement de cap pour un même objectif
Jean-Marc Chaumet
Économie rurale, 2020, vol. 372, issue April-June
Abstract:
The goal of controlling food supply has been present throughout Chinese history. But the recent evolution of food consumption and environmental constraints have made inevitable the shift toward a productivist agricultural policy that China has been pursuing for decades. This new orientation is based on sustaining production potential and investments abroad in order to secure purchases on the international markets and maintain control of food supply. This strategy puts China at the heart of the global agricultural geo-economy, both in terms of international trade and foreign investment.
