Prix agricoles et planification en Pologne

Maksymilian Pohorille

Économie rurale, 1965, vol. 63

Abstract: Farm prices present specific problems in the economic system oj socialist countries. In Poland, the marketing oj farm products is accomplished according to Jour systems, from compulsory deliveries to an open market system. In spite of the influence of the state monopolies, prices are subject to a fluctuation which is impossible to control. For production, consumption and investment, the general price level is determined according to the objects of the plan. Only at this stage, production costs interven. Prices are determined by the margin between etail prices and consumer prices, by taxes subsidies and farm credit, input prices and prices of industrial products consumed by the farmers. Even though a price increase may sometimes be useful for developing the agricultural production, the subsidies granted in order to increase inputs are more efficient for the future evolution.
