Fonction d'offre, approche dynamique
Michel Petit
Économie rurale, 1965, vol. 63
Abstract:
In spite of numerous research efforts on agricultural supply, this function is still poorly \noWn. Recent theoretical developments indicate that a fruitful approach to the study of supply may be the attempt to explain resource allocation to a given enterprise. In the second part of the article results of one of our research studies done in the U.S. are used to the hypothesis. The objectives were to specify the factors influencing feed-grain, beef and por\ production and to measure their effect. An econometric model was built for that purpose. Its coefficients were estimated on the basis of time series data. The limitations due to the method used are first discussed, then it is shown how important resource fixation mecanismus are for the dynamics of supply. A better understanding of the influence of expected prices can be reached.
