E. Rouch
Économie rurale, 1968, vol. 76
Abstract:
After having studied geographical, demographic and economical facts in the south-west, the author tries to take diastic measures to preserve which is worth to : in guiding the farmers according to the complementarity of the areas, the regional planing concerning particularly irrigation, by the industrial development which creates jobs for the agricultural manpower in excess, and at last by setting up democratically these measures. Otherwise, the region may only presents in the future an hypertrophied and weak center, with wilderness surrounded by deserts around spotted with feed oasis.
