Abstract:
The industrialization of the Hungarian agriculture has been slow Methodological errors were committed (exagerated centralization, state monopolies, disproportionate goals of planning) and necessitated an economic reformation. Agriculture and food industries are now put under the same Ministry. A trend of increased autonomy, concentration and specialization of farms is noticeable. The farms are tied to the industrial firms by contracts protecting the interests of both parties.
