Réflexions sur le Plan Mansholt
Michel Petit and
J.-B. Viallon
Économie rurale, 1970, vol. 86
Abstract:
The purpose of the article is to suggest an economic analysis of the situation of our agriculture and thus to emphasize the limits of the Mansholt Plan. The main faults are : 1) The ignorance of the opportunity cost principle which lead the authors to arbitrary computations of sizes of production units and to an underestimation of the impact of general economic conditions on agriculture. 2) An inadequate appraisal of the forces leading to the growth of agricultural supply and as a recuit to agricultural surpluses.
