La classification des exploitations agricoles dans le cadre du réseau d'information comptable agricole de la CEE

Claude Baillet

Économie rurale, 1972, vol. 93

Abstract: The farm classification - The EEC's agricultural accounting information network is based on a sample of 10.000 accounts-keeping farms representing various categories of holdings in the field under observation. In order to make poss, ible a judicious and uniform choice of the accounts-keeping farms throughout the whole territory of the European Communities, the Common Market Commission, as far back as 1966, drew up a basic classification of farms which responds to several principles and is founded on two main aspects, i.e. the technico-economic pattern and the dimensions of the farm. The author describes the principles of this new classification and gives in an annex the results of its initial application to the data of the inquiry into the structure of farms carried out in the Community in 1966/67. The first results of the agricultural accounting information network shortly to be published will also be presented in the setting of this classification.
