Économie rurale, 1972, vol. 93

Abstract: Regional farm accounts studie by the ARER (French Regional Associations for rural Economy) - The first study of Regional Farm Account was attempted in 1961 by the ARER. There was a need to come to know and then to display the diversity of French Farming through the analysis of farm incomes in every region. These regional inquiries followed the pattern of National Accountancy as far as frame and definitions are concerned, and so delivered the information so much asked for. Moreover they aroused such an interest that it became necessary to widen the c frame » (creation of new notions : restricted branches, homogeneous sector), and to diversify the aims of such regional accounts. At the present time, researches are still going on in the ARER to improve and diversify the «r tools » now existing : elaboration of capital Accounts, household accounts, in order to adapt tools to sectors in which national Account patterns have proved unsuitable.
