Abstract: Research in progress concerning a global approach to the Swiss moutain region by the method of typological analysis, a scientific instrument for classifying, comparing and explaining, and an operational instrument for the practician. Objectives : to promote an intervention system differentiated according to regional particularities ; to study the socio-economic changes in mountain areas (245 communes covered).
