Abstract: It is impossible to apply systems analysis to farms without grasping the concepts connected with it and analysing what enables such an approach to be used in this field. A few notions that complement Osty's study, are presented here (constraints, environment, development) as necessary sign-posts to direct the reader's reflection on this matter.
