Abstract:
Summary : Cereal production constraints of the private sector in Algeria are analysed by means of agronomic trials and an economic survey. The trials, conducted in farmer's fields, under their own conditions, show that it is easy to increase the yield by better land preparation and especially by appropriate fertilization. Semi formal interviews have enabled us to establish a farmer's typology based on cultural practices and to show important problems as equipment shortage.
