La formation de l'élite paysanne
Sylvain Maresca
Économie rurale, 1981, vol. 142
Abstract:
Based on the hypothesis that the selection of peasant leaders foreshadows, by its mechanisms and end-products, that which is subsequently operative in peasantry as a whole, the biographical study of farm gives a better understanding of the ways by which peasantry was able to manage its own selection, under the influence of a controling machinery consisting of farmer's unions and other organizations.
