Abstract:
Seventy case studies on the effects and effectiveness of agricultural extension services in the world are reviewed. Two main categories emerge : studies which evaluate extension services from an internal point of view, having rather negative conclusions, and studies which use a global economic approach, showing a positive rate of return of expenditures for agricultural extension services.
