Économie rurale, 1981, vol. 142
Abstract:
The production of certified seeds which is developing in France reflects agriculture's dépendance on research firms which are creating increasingly sophisticated varieties. This production is governed by contracts between seed producers and farms which often count on this activity for an important part of their income. The spatial distribution of these farms is linked to ancient traditions and to the location of seed firms especially cooperatives ones. But he conditions of seed production in France are changing.
