Abstract:
The period of modernization of agriculture was marqued by an effort to revalorize the farmer's image. This resolute and ideological image, built by the catholic Action, progressively spread to all rural areas. It led to political changes and to the main agriculture acts which where inspired by the profession. Since the 70' s , the crisis showed the importance of the aid brought to agriculture, the diminution of the social basis of the agriculture circles and its radicalization (contestation if not violent action) and the competition, denonced by the supporters of the developping countries, which alimentary aid induces on the producters of the southern regions. The farmers reacted in order to recover a positive and valorizing image. They try to developp the quality of theise productions to realize a better economic and social insertion in the rural communities. Therefore they try to change the negative image by buiding identification pôles linhed to other economic and social groups.
