Abstract: Agricultural Education holds a special place in the French Educational System. Although there is still a high proportion of children from rural backgrounds in this branch (47% of farmers' and agricultural laborers' children) there are more and more students from no-rural extraction. This tendency can partially be explained by changes in the kind of training presently offered which take into account on the demand from the agricultural production sector, the para-agricultural sector but also the rural tertiary sector. This present research deals with the 1981-1982 registered BEPA upper-sexth formers. Our methodology is bared on a longitudinal analysis. This technique makes it possible to retrace the professional itenerary of the young students during the first 4 years following this training course. It also allous a broader approach to this problem in termes of further studies and acquisition of complementary qualification.
