Abstract:
Last July 1991, the EC Commission has approved a reform of the agricultural sector which is going to commit the sector to a profound adjustment. All membres countries, including Spain, are compelled to implement the new measures. However, not all countries are placed themselves on the same point of departure to carry out such changes successfully. As Spain possess some structural and climatic factors adversely affecting the competitiveness of its farmers, the required adjustment of Spanish agriculture it is bound to pose more problems than those to be faced by countries like Germany, France and U. Kingdom, unless the final draft of the approved Reform allows for such differences among countries. This paper deals with some likely effects of implementing the above mentioned Reform to Spanish agriculture.
