Relance de la recherche agro-économique en Afrique. Stratégie à poursuivre et rôle de la coopération

A. Basler

Économie rurale, 1993, vol. 213

Abstract: The structure and working procedure of NARS in Africa countries are in a critical situation. Economic research on agriculture, rural areas and food systems, and thus information flows, are particularly affected. Strengthening NARS in Africa is a highly important task. Promotion of NARS should start by defining priorities for agricultural research. Based on these priorities a concrete medium-term working programme determining research fields, main topics and funding has to be elaborated. The programme should and must be the starting point for defining cooperation fields and procedures in a regional context (research networks), with International Centres and with donor community.
