Abstract:
The decision making responsibilities of local units of government is enhanced through the decentralization processes. Local bodies must have access to and control upon socio-economic information or decentralization will be a decoy. Within a rural canton of 21 communes an economic information network for local units of government was built and experimented. Its aim is to give greater control over information at the rural level.
