Politique de préretraite et bas revenus agricoles

Jean-Louis Brangeon, Guenhaël Jégouzo and Maurice Quinqu

Économie rurale, 1996, vol. 232

Abstract: An early retirement scheme was applied as a cap accompanying measure in France since 1992. Even though this policy does not take the low income farmers as its target, it speeded up the decrease in the number and the duration of agricultural employments with low return. The results of an inquiry for 1992-93 period revealed a real but restricted impact of the measure. Many factors determine the choice between early retirement and going on farming; their influence was tested.
