Abstract:
Based on a farm typology which matches the intensification level and their production structure, this study makes the effort to determine the technico-economic decision criteria of each type of farm targetted by the agricultural extension. The method is the mathematical programming modeling of production systems complemented with the Multiple Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) technic applied to different types of farms. The main farmer's objective is the profit maximization only for the "Young" farmers. The "Capitalised" ones maximize "profit/variable cost" ratio, the "Diversified" farmers minimize variable cost and the "Traditional" ones minimize the management difficulty. These results can allow a better screening of technical proposals made to different farmers.
