Contrat agri-environnemental: un outil pour quelles coordinations ?

Économie rurale, 1999, vol. 249
Abstract:
The agro-environmental measures implement contracts between the State and the farmers. Their aim is to change the practices of the contractors or to maintain them, which is supposed to have an environmental impact. The aim of the paper is to show what constrains the contractor. With the help of an economics of conventions analysis, we show that the integration of the contract in the functioning of the farm system puts of the proof of the legitimacy of the contract. The contract induces new forms of coordination between the farmer and his socio-economic environment. The analysis is carried out the case of forest protection against fire in the Cevennes mountains and out the case of protection of species in the Crau steppe. We analyse constraints through the coordinations they involve.
