Installation « hors du cadre familial » et relation d'adoption

Alice Barthez

Économie rurale, 1999, vol. 253

Abstract: The family farm takeover by a non family taker always existed although it was very much in the minority. If we consider the case of farm entrance by means of corporate farming, we can see that the relations between partners refer to the logic of family, in the meaning of a striking resemblance to an adoption process, rather than to the professional attitude normally connected to their business contract. This situation may give rise to tensions between the young partner, who doesn't easily stand the rules of an other family than his own, and the older, who tries to induce his own point of view of the business as included in a family continuation.
