Abstract:
A limited collective resource of irrigation water gets actors to negociate common rules of distribution and management. A study has been conducted in La Réunion on a collective reservoir project, to help farmers to better define the supply-demand relationships of water and the risks of shortage, and to test various rules of distribution. This paper presents the methodology used, which closely associates (i) analysis of the individual farmers' irrigation practices, (ii) design of tools for modelling and simulation of the individual water consumptions and the water supply dynamic according to various climatic scenarios, and (iii) discussion of the results with the farmers' group.
