Urbanisation et consommation alimentaire citadine en Cote d'Ivoire

Abstract: Since the fifties, Ivory Coast has been characterized by a rapid urbanization : 60 /o of the population will live in cities around the year 2000. Observing food products consumption by urban people allows to refute the idea of occidentalized alienation. During the last thirthy years, dishes and the budgets structure have few changed, the alimentary habits have not been dramatically modified. On the contrary, the dishes prepared as well as social practices are witnessing to an urban africanity, which is not reducible to an universal stereotype.
