Abstract: A clear distinction between food economics and rural economics would allow the clarification of the socio- economical analyses regarding agriculture. The intersectorial and spatial conjunctions between these three approaches in the context of social and economic development should allow the construction of a theory relating to agricultural agro-food and rural development.
