Abstract:
The development of the human resource is a key factor in the success of the agricultural sector of any country. In the U.K. the number of workers have declined but the level of their education and training continues to improve. Farm based training groups are a valuable method for upgrading craft skills. The majority of farmers, as well as being business managers, are also an important part of the farm work force. Performance levels depend upon setting realistic targets, and good planning and control of all resources. Those who use their time effectively and stay with priorities are best placed to develop their entrepreneurial skills.
