Abstract: Having in mind the fact that the reduction and loss of relatively small part of environmental assets and nature values affect their development opportunities in the future, it is necessary to undertake the measures preventing the depletion of any of its components. The environment should be considered as one of principal elements of the development. The action improving the state of the environment through spatial development, enhancement of water, soil and air quality, as well as rational usage of natural assets should be taken. The type of taken actions depends on the way and range of using the environment at the local level. Each community has to adjust its activities taking into account environmental aspects. The research regarding identification and assessment of the activities in terms of shaping environmental dimension of rural areas of Lower Silesian Province has shown certain diversity according to particular communities and regions.
