Abstract:
The aim of this study was to estimate emissions and greenhouse gas reductions resulting in the full life cycle of biofuels (LCA) and determining the ability to meet the requirements of Directive 2009/28/EC as regards to the sustainable production of biofuels. Opportunities to reduce greenhouse gas emissions were sought thru increasing sequestration of organic carbon in the soil as a result of the improvement of agricultural technology. It was found that to achieve the required 50% reduction in emissions by 2017 was possible in the production of bioethanol and biodiesel from crops grown in the field where, tillage with the total quantity of crop residues incorporation was used.
