Abstract: The paper attempts to assess the correlation between the evolution of the price level, the volume and value of production and the costs and agricultural income of poultry and egg market in Poland. The in efficiency have been expressed by the coefficients cost-absorption, productivity, and efficiency of grain production in Poland. The range covered a long period of time, i.e. 20 years. The survey was conducted from the perspective of the two sub-periods. First, the pre-accession took over the years 1994-2003, the second entered into in the years 2004-2013. This made it possible to give a comparative considerations. Based on the survey, it turned out that, despite the high degree of concentration and specialization of chicken farms in the market efficiency of production of poultry and eggs remained at a relatively low level. This confirms therefore that manufacturers operate in conditions so. „technological treadmill.”
