Abstract:
In the study an analysis of the unemployed population inhabiting the area of each of the Lesser Poland Province`s 22 districts was conducted. Each of the objects was described using seven variables (among others : the rate of the unemployed aged over 55 years, the representation of the unemployed under 24 years of age, the representation of people who have completed tertiary education in the group of the registered unemployed, the representation of the disabled in the group of the unemployed, the number of the registered unemployed for each job offer, the unemployment rate). Next, after choosing from the group the potential diagnostic variables fulfilling the formal requirements, the districts were grouped using Wroclaw taxonomy. Four groups characterized by similar intensity of the adverse phenomena prevailing on the local job markets were singled out. In the conclusion an analysis of the obtained groups was conducted.
