Abstract:
The study identified the most common types of innovation introduced by SMEs, which included product innovations. It was also found that the result of applying innovative solutions by the examined entities are mainly benefits in the form of increased market share and a considerable improvement of the quality of offered products. It was found that the reasons for taking up innovation activity are a perspective development of the company and the need to withstand competition. The principal barriers limiting this activity are financial obstacles.
