Abstract:
The aim of the study was to determine the economic efficiency of small pig farms participating in the pig genetic resources conservation programme. Ten farms participating in the pulawska conservation programme from the Lubelszczyzna region were intentionally chosen for the study. The study was performed in 2011-2013. The economic efficiency of production was calculated based on the division of costs into direct and indirect costs. The economic categories conform with the FADN terminology. It was found that the farms selected for analysis of race-term protected and covered by the scheme achieved a profit from production and payment behavior of local pig breeds contributed to the increased income from operations by an average of 50.56%
