Abstract: The aim of this study is to indicate and assess the significance of health in the creation of economic activity of rural areas. The analysis carried out allowed the author to compile a assessment of the regional economies with regard to the degree of the impact of disability on the potential of an effective use of labour resources of rural areas. The empirical data refers to NTUS 1 and NUTS 2.
