Abstract:
The aim of the study was to present the size and development of organic farming in Europe. It was found that the largest areas of farmland under organic farming was developed in those countries where organic market is the largest, that is, in the countries of Western Europe. Within the organic agricultural production faster is growing crop than animal production. Thus, significantly increased of the surface area of organic field crops and assets, particularly protein crops and oilseeds, cereals, vegetables and fruit plantations and vineyards compared to an increase in permanent grassland.
