Abstract:
The increasing demand for primary energy, accompanied by the limitation of fossil fuels, intensifies the use of alternative – especially renewable – energy sources. Issues concerning the so-called. green energy are located in the area of the bio-economy. The aim of the article was to present the essence of the bio-economy, with particular focus on the renewable energy market. In addition, attention was paid to prospects of development of energy agriculture as an important supplier of raw materials for the green energy production.
