Abstract:
The aim of the study was to determine the level of self-sufficiency in the production of basic types of fruit and to measure its changes in the period 2008-2013. The study analyzed the following groups and species: fruit total (excluding citrus fruits), apples, pears, berries. For analyzing the level of consumption self-sufficiency a modified self-sufficiency rate was used, which expresses the degree of satisfying the internal needs in a given area on the main groups of agricultural food products from domestic production. In the period 2008-2013 total self-sufficiency in fruit production in the country remained at a satisfactory level. Among the provinces there were clear centers of high production manifold exceeding their internal needs, such as the provinces of Lubelskie, Świętokrzyskie, Masovia and Łódzkie.
